Where
is my main page?
When you signed up for your web site, we
created a placeholder page. To replace it
with one of your own, you need to create
or rename a file as "index.html." By
default, the first page accessed when your
web site is visited is the "index.html" file.
If you have already created a home page,
you need to rename that page "index.html." You
may need to delete the default "index.html" file
first before attempting to rename your new
file, as you may not be able to overwrite
an existing file simply by renaming another
file using the same name.
To
rename your file, do the following:
1-
Log into your File Manager.
2- Check the box next to the file you want
to rename.
3- Click the "Rename" button
in the toolbar.
4- Enter the new name and click the "Rename
Files" button.
5- View your web page by clicking its name
in File Manager.
Note: File
names are case sensitive, so "index.html" is
not the same as "Index.html" or "INDEX.HTML." Also,
the file extension ".htm" is
not the same as ".html," so
you will need to name your index page with
an ".html" extension.

Switching
to Orderyourweb
Using an existing domain name and
moving your web site to Orderyourweb is easy and
you don't have to redo all your work.
How do I use my existing domain name?
To use your existing domain name with Orderyourweb, you need
to contact your domain registrar and request a
name server change to redirect your existing domain
name to your new web site hosted by Orderyourweb.
You should provide your domain registrar
with the following information:
I would like Orderyourweb to host my domain
name. Please make the following changes to your DNS (Domain Name Server) config. If you need help contact your domain registration company for help.
Primary name server: A.DNSVR.COM
Primary IP address: 72.9.101.68
Secondary name server: E.DNSVR.COM
Secondary IP address: 216.122.4.140
Don't know who your domain registrar is?
Look it up in the public domains registry, called
the WHOIS directory.
Please note:
-
This is not a registrar transfer. Your
domain name registration will remain with your
registrar, and you'll still be responsible for
domain name fees and renewal with your current
provider.
-
Only the domain owner can request this change.
Orderyourweb cannot do it for you.
-
Your name server change may not take effect
for up to 72 hours.
-
See the
instructions below if you also want to move
your web site from another provider to Orderyourweb.
We recommend that you copy your site to Orderyourweb
and make any necessary adjustments before contacting
your domain name registrar.
How do I move my site to Orderyourweb?
-
Save all of your web site files including
images, sound files, and video clips to
your computer.
-
Transfer these files from your computer to
Orderyourweb using FTP or
our web-based file upload tool.
- Once you've uploaded the files, you can preview
your site before publishing it to the Internet.
You can continue to preview and make adjustments
until all your web pages look exactly the way
you want.
- If you are using an existing domain name,
contact your registrar to change your name
servers. (See instructions above.) This change
will redirect your existing domain name to
your web site hosted with Orderyourweb.
- Once this change has been made, you can publish
your web site to the Internet with the click
of a button.
Please note:
Special features offered by your current hosting provider, such
as guestbooks or counters, may not work with Orderyourweb.
However, you can replace many of these features
with Orderyourweb enhancements, including guestbooks,
counters, site search tools, and more.
Which advanced features does Orderyourweb support?
We also support such popular third-party web
site building tools as Macromedia Dreamweaver,
Adobe GoLive, and Microsoft FrontPage (2000 and
2002).*
